A feature that I’ve been waiting what seems like decades for has finally hit the web! I haven’t heard much about this, but it’s a pretty big thing in my opinion.
From the web interface of www.instagram.com, you can now post your pictures from a computer!
All you’d have to do it click on the [+] sign up at the top of Instagram’s header bar (between the Messages button and the Explore button) and select/drag photos into the browser to get started. From what I’m seeing, this feature has just started to roll out, so you may not have it on your account yet.
But once you do … it’s simple and easy! Enjoy!
It must be a Mac feature. I just tried Firefox, Chrome, and Edge browsers along with the Instagram app on my PC and it wasn’t available. I have been using a hack with Chrome to post from my computer for several years from a post here on Photofocus: https://photofocus.com/photography/how-to-post-to-instagram-from-your-computer-easy-as-a-b-c/
It’s still rolling out, Kathy. I don’t have it yet either!
Yay I have this feature on mine
Can you provide a link to Instagram’s announcement or somewhere else to read more? I’m trying to look into how long the rollout will take as I still don’t have it either. Though I know the rollout for direct messaging on the web was similar for some users.
