With the search for the next best social media for photographers still on, there has been renewed interest on platforms like Vero. While it’s been around since 2015, it only really piqued interest in 2018 before going off the radar again. Fast-forward to present times, photographers are revisiting their Vero accounts to see if it could finally replace Instagram for photo sharing.

Among them is Swedish macro photographer Micael Widell, who was reminded of Vero by content creator Peter McKinnon. In case this is your first time learning about the platform, Widell quickly gave some basic facts about it. Aside from the chronological order, the support for high resolution photos makes it extra appealing to photographers. So, if you want to pixel-peep or simply appreciate photos in full detail and excellent quality, that’s definitely a plus.

Also, Widell mentioned that Vero has its own desktop apps for both Windows and Mac. That’s definitely a plus since Instagram never really bothered developing a proper desktop app. With it, photographers can easily upload high resolution photos straight from their computer.

As with any platform poised to be an Instagram replacement, Vero isn’t perfect. There’s still some room for improvement and innovation before it can become truly ground-breaking for photographers to completely make the move out of Instagram. But, that’s also what current users are keeping an eye out for. We’ll see how the platform evolves this time around!
