Elinchrom of Renens, Switzerland announced today that it is breaking ties with Manfrotto in order to handle the distribution of its professional electronic flash systems directly in the United States.
According to an emailed press release today Elinchrom President Chris Whittle noted, As the U.S. photography market continues to grow and evolve across the professional and prosumer markets, we felt now was an appropriate time to pursue some exciting new ideas. We would like to thank the team at

Elinchrom will start its operations in the United States on May 5, 2015. Mark Astmann will join Chris Whittle in the effort. Says Whittle, This is a renewed and enhanced commitment on our part to take our relationship with photographers and dealers in the U.S. to the next level.
Elinchrom has been producing portable studio flash systems since 1962.
