Lume Cube has released a high-quality two-point lighting system that they say eliminates shadows and glare. It is designed for portraiture, vlogging, product photography and more. The light panels rotate on flexible arms, providing full illumination from just about any angle.
Note: Lume Cube sent us the Flex Light Pro to review and keep. However, this is a completely independent review. All thoughts about this light are our own.

Lume Cube Flex Light Pro — Ergonomics and build quality
The Flex Light Pro is compact, yet stands at up to 70”. The stand is an adjustable and collapsible black stand. This is topped with a black box the size of a sandwich. This is the controller and power supply with LED screen, a couple of dials, and USB ports. Two flexible arms, each one with LED light panels on the end, extend from the controller, almost like a square head with large ears.
The stand comes with a gooseneck phone mount. This makes it incredibly easy to set up the light and phone to begin vlogging almost immediately. Because the mount also swivels, you may set up the phone for either vertical or horizontal orientation.
Build quality
From the second you begin opening the extremely well-built case, I began realizing that the build quality is solid and classy. None of the switches or dials wiggle and inspire confidence. Even the two adjustment dials are metal.

The stand packs down small for how tall it is, reversing its legs to surround the extendable column. It’s easy to set up and is sturdy for the setup at hand. The controller is easy and intuitive, and no instructions are needed to operate the light. The LED readout is very easy to see in most kinds of light.
The USB-A and USB-C charging ports are a welcome feature, as you can keep charging your devices while using them.
The quality of the light is soft and pleasing. Because you are able to swivel each light by 270 degrees as well as adjust the gooseneck for placement, it is easy and intuitive to place the two lights where you want them to be quickly.
I also like that if you are recording with the phone, you can literally pick up the entire stand and move it from location to location and begin creating video again. I did this using my iPhone 14 Pro, moving it outdoors and then back indoors while testing to see how the light performed in the video below.
Steady as she goes
I did notice that it helps to wait several seconds after hitting the phone to have everything stop wobbling when one of the four segments of the light stand is extended. This is the height that you would use for sitting in a chair. If all four segments of the stand are extended to its full height of 70”, which is rather tall, you have to wait more than a few seconds for the stand to stop vibrating. This would not be an issue if you were only using the lights.
However, if for some reason you wanted to have your phone recording video at over six feet in height, you might get some vibrations initially. You likely would not be able to record perfectly still video outside if there were any amount of breeze. I think it would be unreasonable to expect something like this not to vibrate, but. it still bears mentioning. Regardless, the actual stand itself still seems sturdy when fully extended. And using only the lights would obviously pose no issue.
Lume Cube Flex Light Pro — Flexibility in numerous settings
The light is flexible not only because it allows you to adjust its gooseneck. It’s also light and portable while still supplying enough light to work outdoors as well as indoors. Because the light has a CRI of 96+, the manufacturer says that it can also be used for makeup or tattoo artists. I chose to test it for video instead of getting a tattoo. I hope you’ll forgive me for not going above and beyond for this review.
