I recently reviewed a FlexiSpot standing/sitting desk which is the bomb. You can see my thoughts on that article here. They sent me a clamp on under desk sliding keyboard tray to test as well. Below are my thoughts on that piece of kit.

Note: FlexiSpot sent the KT2B Clamp-On Adjustable Keyboard Tray to review. However, this is a completely independent review. All thoughts about this desk accessory are our own.

FlexiSpot KT2B Clamp-On Adjustable Keyboard Tray — Ergonomics and build

You need to attach the clamps to the base. Instructions were clear and easy to understand. The instructions suggest you need to have a Phillips Head screwdriver for assembly. But no worries there it was included with the screws! The clamps needed to be separated to create a sleek shipping size box. Once the unit was assembled it felt solid.

Instructions were easy to follow. Note the Phillips Head Screwdriver that came with the screws.

Attaching it to the desk was simple. These clamps even worked with my desk. Most clamp on keyboards note that you can’t use them if you have a beveled edge. I was even able to cheat the keyboard out an extra half inch because I am using a Wacom Tablet on the slider vs my keyboard and needed jus that little extra to keep my knuckles from brushing the edge of the desk. I did set up the keyboard on the tray. Even with the extended keyboard there was still room for the mouse on the same surface.

FlexiSpot KT2B Clamp-On Adjustable Keyboard Tray — In use

Works a charm for the slide out and definitely supports any gear you want to put on there with no problem. I don’t know of any keyboards and mice that weigh more than 15 lbs. My only quibble would be that when you extend the tray all the way out it would have a click stop as my last keyboard tray had. It’s not like it will slide back under magically on it’s own power but it does make it possible to bump and slide in a little easier than I would like.

I tested and the keyboard tray will hold the extended keyboard plus still have room for the mouse as well.
