One roll. Who needs a photography challenge?

It’s time to get motivated to get out and create! (Trying to listen to my own advice.) One way of finding your motivation is to take part in photography challenges.

Here is one of my favorite challenges.

This is a little old school. But, it’s such a great exercise to get us thinking and creating with more intent.

One roll

one roll film strip

Only photograph one roll of ‘film’ for a couple of weeks. At the end of the two weeks, look at the photos and see what is important to you. Take note of what you’re drawn to.

No cheating — grab a roll of film with 12, 24 or 36 exposures. You only get to press the shutter for that many images.

What happens when you do this? How do you feel while you’re out shooting with this limitation?

If you need further inspiration, Daniel Gregory always has very insightful topics on his podcast. This one in particular goes perfectly with the one-roll challenge.
