Most of the generic plates are Manfrotto RC2
Just to skew the results a bit. I have a universal L-bracket by Kirk that I use instead of an on camera L-bracket. That way I can use a standard Arca Swiss plate. I’ve been using this on cameras for about 7 or 8 years, same plates and bracket. Nice part is when I don’t want an L-bracket on the camera, poof its off. I usually store it on the tripod.
I know the Arca-style plate is better, but I have too many Manfrotto tripod heads and the Manfrotto plates are smaller so I leave them on my cameras all the time.
