Is Pentax releasing two compact film cameras in Spring 2024? Ricoh has pumped the brakes on that previous statement.
We reported a short while ago about Pentax releasing two new affordable compact film cameras in Spring 2024. Ricoh Europe has now issued an official statement regarding that previous report.
We found information on several websites regarding our film camera development. This included two compact film cameras for Spring 2024 as mentioned by a colleague working for Ricoh Imaging Europe. This is not our official remark, nor is it based on any fixed information. We are indeed challenging the development of a compact film camera; however, we have not yet decided whether or when we will launch such a product.

The previous statement was from an announcement which came during a French-speaking photo and video podcast on Fautpaspousserlesiso.com. They had interviewed Yazid Belmadi, a promotions manager at Ricoh Imaging France, who talked about issuing two compact cameras in Spring 2024.
If we hear anything more about the Film Camera Project by Pentax, we will report it here.
In the mean time, you may wish to read about why the Pentax Film Camera Project just might be successful.

I hope that means they’ll be bringing back their K-mount lenses?
I’m assuming that you mean manufacturing or designing new K-mount lenses since they haven’t gone away from K-mount? I haven’t heard anything about that, but if I find out, I will report it right here.
I hope you mean bringing out a 35mm film SLR which will allow one to use all current and legacy Pentax K Mount lenses!
Q10 best compact so far.
Do you feel they should model the compact cameras after this? And if so, what modern improvements would you like to see them implement?
