Let’s face it, some places make it easier for photographers to get great photos. However, not all of us have the privilege to travel to scenic destinations or live in spectacular locations. So, when the need to take cool photos strikes, what do you do? Can you still get great results out of ordinary places?
Alex Kilbee of The Photographic Eye reminds us in the video above that yes, that is very much possible. “You don’t need to go to exotic locations to find cool photos. There’s tons all around you,” he noted. The key, he said, is to make photography an everyday activity that is enjoyable and fulfilling. Your goal? To embrace randomness and create images that your audience most likely hasn’t seen before.
So, to make his case, he talked about how he photographs everyday life, apart from some outstanding examples of how others have done it as well. He also shared his process, planning, and approach to creating a meaningful body of work.
