Luminar needs administrator rights to install or remove its Photoshop or Lightroom Classic plugin. For Windows users this is simple. Just follow these steps to install Luminar as a Photoshop plugin.
This solution has helped to fix the issue in most cases:
- Make sure Photoshop is closed
- Right-click the Luminar 4 icon and select Run As Administrator
- Click File > Install Plugins
- Click Uninstall next to Photoshop
- Reboot your PC
- Right-click the Luminar 4 icon and select Run As Administrator
- Click File > Install Plugins
- Click Install next to Photoshop
Launch Photoshop, open an image and test out the powerful features of Luminar.
Still does not open from Photoshop. The spinning wheel in PS runs and Luminar does not open. If I don’t set Luminar to run as Administrator the plugin opens but stops or hangs at the splash screen.
Photoshop also needs to be run in Admin mode, similarly Lightroom
Is the Plugin working in Ps and Lr for you?
You only need to run Luminar as an Admin when installing the Plugin. Try this and let me know if it works. Close Ps and Luminar. Run Luminar as an Admin (Right-click on Luminar and select Run as Administrator) Uninstall both PS and Lr as plugins (From the File menu). Close Luminar. Relaunch Luminar again as an Admin and this time Install Ps and Lr plugins. Close Luminar and Open Ps and run Luminar as a Plugin. Email me at [email protected] your results. Thanks
