Adobe Lightroom Classic recently had a software update (V12.3) offering a few major updates, including AI Denoise, panel additions and of course Masking, which is what I’m going to have a look at now.
Develop Panel Interface updates
I really like the changes made to the Develop panel interface. I can quickly see which panels have active edits and temporarily hide changes to compare before and after adjustments for each panel. So that is a pretty cool new feature to have.
Lightroom updates to the masking panel
Additional elements to the masking tools include clothes, the ability to create multiple masks at once, and of course, the tone curve within the masking tool itself. This allows you to really work on different layers individually. There have also been some additions to the Adaptive Portrait Presets like Texture Hair, Darken Beard and Enhance Clothes. So let’s take a look.
