Another week, another photography challenge! Here’s one that you can tackle over the weekend. For the 43rd week of their 52-week Photo Challenge, the folks of SlickPic are calling everyone to get creative with their photos through Long Exposure. If you’re ready and raring to go, it’s time to refill your creative juices and put your photography skills to the test.
As the title suggests, this challenge involves being creative and intentional about long exposure techniques like slow shutter, light trails and light painting. It’s the perfect opportunity to get creative with subjects like flowing water, moving clouds, and speeding cars, as well as locations like busy streets and outdoors at night. Since you’ll be using slower shutter speeds, you’ll need a tripod for this challenge. Depending on the kind of photos you want to do, tools like flash lights and pen lights will also come in handy.
To help inspire you with some tips and examples, check out our long exposure guides, as well these from Capture the Atlas and Mike Smith. In case you’re just joining, we also encourage you to check out the full info on the 52-week Challenge.
