If you haven’t already seen the latest update with Radiant Photo, there have been some upgrades in the latest software offering. I installed the update and checked things out.
Radiant Photo
Radiant Photo is an image enhancer that offers true-to-life color in your images. The latest update promises to be faster and more stable. Radiant does its job (or more accurately, your job of editing) really well, really fast and really easy.
Scene Detection
It now comes with updated scene detection, smart presets and quick edit options. The AI recognizes the content of the photo, breaking it down to the pixels and choosing the perfect starting point for your editing process. Smart presets are applied to each image, and you can also use your own AI presets. Then you can refine your edits with the quick edit controls.
Color correction AND color grading
Radiant Photo now offers separate color correction and color grading. There is a whole new separate Color Grading panel (just after the detail panel). The color grading applies on top of your edit. So basically, your main edit is safe and you can play with different looks and styles without resetting the original settings. There are optional looks/styles from black and white to retro film looks. You can even change the strength, Saturation and Contrast of the applied preset to your image.
Looks and Presets
Radiant Photo has a range of Looks and Presets as optional extras. Basically, in the Color Grade panel, Radiant Photo’s Looks remap colors (tone, saturation, luminance) and give the image a new look while maintaining all the corrections done manually or by applying a Preset. Whereas a Preset moves the sliders available in “Detailed Edit” mode. Not affecting the original edit. Presets are applied over the edit.
Graduated Filter Options
You can apply linear or radial gradients to your images in the Graduated Filter panel. These are movable by selecting the midpoint. You can set size, feather, rotation and more. There are Graduated Filter presets or you can make your own. You can adjust the Blend (or strength) or the filter applied to the final image.
Other additions
As well as the new Color Grading Panel and Graduated Filter options, there have been improvements in the Film Strip, and more export options, including directly from the film strip.
So maybe it’s time to check out Radiant Photo, or at least the software update if you already have it installed.
