A dust booger made it into my camera while photographing the desert. Just so happens I was photographing a bunch of panorama images. What to do? Recently, I showed you a way to clean dust spots on your sensor. Here is an advanced technique to save time if you missed them or one sneaked in as it did to my desert panorama photo.
Oh no, dust repeated throughout my pano!
It came as a surprise when I rendered my panorama and saw repeated dust spots all across the sky. In the past I would have started cleaning all the spots and probably missing some along the way. The new move is to toss the rendered file and start again. Why? Because the dust spots can be removed in one fell swoop.
Adobe Camera RAW (ACR) (or Lightroom) to the rescue
Select all the RAW files needed for the panorama and open ACR. Once open, select all of the images in the stack and invoke the Healing Tool section from the top right of the menu. It’s the band aid looking icon.

Choose to activate “Visualize Spots,” then click the Heal icon. You will see where the spots need to be cleaned. Click on the first one and all will be cleaned at once. If there were more than one, click each. In this example, there is only one spot. Return the files to Adobe Bridge for reprocessing with PhotoMerge into the panorama sans spots!
