FlexiSpot Large Mouse Pad — Ergonomics and build quality

Ergonomics

I use a Logitech MX Vertical Wireless Mouse, and it tracks very well despite being completely black. It’s also extremely smooth. I don’t tend to like a lot of resistance on mouse pads, preferring a smooth glide. This provides that without being slick.

The mousepad is large enough to accommodate a laptop, mouse, and keyboard. I have my keyboard, mouse, and miscellaneous stuff that typically fills my cramped workspace, and there’s still plenty of space.

The mouse pad doesn’t ever shift on the desktop.

Build quality

The mouse pad appears to be extremely well-constructed. I anticipate this lasting for years.

Flexispot Large Mouse Pad — In the field

This is the first time that I’ve used a mouse pad that wasn’t made of fabric. It won’t be the last. It seems far more rugged. It’s also less prone to staining, smelling, tearing, and other general damage.

It’s made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), which is a type of plastic that has characteristics of both plastic and rubber. Its very practical in applications where abrasion resistance is critical.

It’s also attractive. It’s not every day that someone comments when you get a new mouse pad. However, this is one of those things that looks good enough that people notice.

Final thoughts

I have used either large cloth mouse pads or small mouse pads that I have somehow acquired for free. This is the first time I’ve had a solid mouse pad. But I’m sold. This is more attractive, doesn’t get in the way, protects my desktop, and won’t start looking worn after a few months. This is easily the best, most attractive mouse pad I’ve used.
