In the Camera Raw dialog you’ll find clarity. This is selective contrast, adding it to the areas that need it most. The same adjustment slider is also in Lightroom.

  1. Double-click the Zoom tool to switch to 100% magnification.
  2. Slowly drag the Clarity slider to the right. Stop when you notice halos or blooming along the edge of the image.
  3. Back the clarity slider off until contrast is improved (but not overdone).

The use of clarity benefits nearly every image. The key is to not overdo it.
