In the Camera Raw dialog you’ll find clarity. This is selective contrast, adding it to the areas that need it most. The same adjustment slider is also in Lightroom.
- Double-click the Zoom tool to switch to 100% magnification.
- Slowly drag the Clarity slider to the right. Stop when you notice halos or blooming along the edge of the image.
- Back the clarity slider off until contrast is improved (but not overdone).
The use of clarity benefits nearly every image. The key is to not overdo it.
