Here’s a quick Day 1 report from the WPPI show! So glad we made it to the show this year. The energy is tremendous. If you decided to give it a pass, you missed some serious opportunities to network, and a breadth of ways to engage and hone your skills. The shooting bays were unique and staffed with talent who coached attendees on how to get the shot!
Fujifilm rocked the house! They set the tone for WPPI with an opening night party that will be discussed for years! (Remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!) They sponsored numerous events and shooting bays, and gave multiple sneak peeks into the fantastic camera-to-cloud initiatives you have heard about.
The classes were standing room only. Of course, the ones about shooting boudoir photography couldn’t have been more popular.
Also, it’s worth noting that this year’s WPPI is seeing lots of first-time attendees and a much younger demographic. Hats off to George Varanakis for what he and his team were able to do. (I never did find the emerald suit; He was keeping a shallow profile.) But if you care about what we, as long-time industry players, think about your show, you know how to reach me!
