Solution: Photoshop CC 2015 Missing Plugins

Like many, I installed Photoshop CC 2015. The installation went fine except none of my additional editing software Nik, onOne, Topaz, Tiffen, etc linked to CC 2015. On a deadline, I tried to fall back to Photoshop CC 2014 only to fine it was removed. I paused for a second and thought there is no way Adobe would leave me out to dry.

Simple Solution

I went to my Adobe directory and found my Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 folder. Inside it was the plugins subfolder. I copied the the Plugins folder plus a few extra files in the main folder. Said a quick prayer and paste the folder into the new Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 folder. Launched Photoshop CC 2015 and smiled when I saw my 3rd party plugins were back!

Some Overreacted

How considerate of Adobe … maybe a mass subscription cancellation will get their attention and a tweak to the install procedure .

After I fixed my problem, and my deadline was met, I checked out the forums to see if others had the same problem I had. Sure enough, everyone was experiences the same issue. Some said there was a check box during the installation that preserved your plugins. Others said Adobe made it clear some third party plugins may not work. Honestly, I never got the memo but I knew Adobe isn’t in the business to upset their loyal base. So when I came across the comment, “How considerate of Adobe … maybe a mass subscription cancellation will get their attention and a tweak to the install procedure.” I had to shake my head and laugh. A simple solution was found and my blood pressure never raised.
