Sigma’s commitment to delivering high-performance lenses continues with the introduction of the 28-105mm f/2.8 DG DN Art lens. Designed for Sony E and Leica L mount cameras, this full-frame zoom lens offers a versatile focal range that includes the popular 85mm portrait focal length.
Featuring Sigma’s latest autofocus technology, superior image quality, and customizable buttons, the 28-105mm f/2.8 DG DN Art is a compact and durable option for wedding, event, and other photographers seeking a bright, all-in-one zoom lens. Its advanced optical construction, featuring large-diameter FLD glass and aspherical elements, ensures exceptional image quality without sacrificing size or weight.
The lens maintains a consistent minimum focusing distance of 15.8 inches throughout the entire zoom range, with a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.1 at the telephoto end. Its high-response linear autofocus is both quick and quiet, while the lockable aperture ring, click/declick button, zoom lock switch, and two AFL buttons provide customizable controls for various shooting scenarios.
Built to withstand the elements, the 28-105mm f/2.8 DG DN Art lens features a dust- and splash-resistant design with water- and oil-repellant coatings. Its magnesium barrel construction ensures durability and reliability.
As one of the fastest lenses in its class in over 25 years, the 28-105mm f/2.8 DG DN Art offers a significant upgrade over slower kit lenses. Its only true predecessor was Tamron’s 28-105mm f/2.8 LD Aspherical IF SP AF lens, released in 1997. While the Tamron lens was known for its bright aperture, it was also bulkier and noisier. The new Sigma lens combines a similar wide aperture with a more modern design and advanced features.
