Sooner or later every photographer in America is asked, “So, when are you gonna quit your job and shoot for National Geographic?” And all of us say, “Oh, I’m not that good,” but secretly we’re thinking, “My picture would look good with a yellow border…” We all know that they represent the gold yellow standard in story telling. Their job is to make pictures that matter.

In this video, a montage of National Geographic photographers talk of the importance of photography and the impact on the real world the two-dimensional image makes. Basically, they make it clear why it’s their pictures with a yellow border, and not mine.
