Why I picked this image: Parades, festivities and concerts are a good place for people and street photography. There are plenty of people and many of them have a higher expectation of being photographed. This can make for a good starting ground for beginning street photographers, too.
One thing that I always tell my students is to not only focus on the main act (parade, band etc) but also turn around at the audience and capture how they react or interact with the event.
Naf did just that with this wonderfully timed image that captures the joy and exuberance of this event. And the wide-angle lens gives the viewer a good idea of the location and the overall spirit.
