Photo: “Staten Island Ferry”
This quiet moment of two people reading and a man glancing at the camera is a study in perfection. Light dances and paints the photo with wondrous reflections. The pause in the day as the Staten Island Ferry makes its way is beautifully realized by Photofocus Photographer of the Day Claude Beller.

Great shot!
So perfectly captures that ‘Twilight Zone’ moment on a ferry ride — between two worlds, mind empty, blank stare.
You COULD be a character in the classic French SciFi film “Alphaville” journeying between two asteroids hundreds of years from now; or on a river ferry crossing in Conrad’s “Heart of Darkness” … or many, many others!
Incredibly atmospheric!
