Even the pros and long-time photographers can still make mistakes. This is why UK-based Nigel Danson wanted to share with his fellow landscape photographers what went down when he made the number one mistake everyone can make with wide angle lenses.

In the video above, Danson used his photos to demonstrate what happens when you capture too much of a scene with a wide angle lens. Because you have a wide field of view, you tend to introduce big areas into your scene, he stressed.

In his example, Danson points out to too much dead space, which resulted in a boring foreground. In cases like this, your best option is to crop the photo to bring attention to the most interesting parts.

So, before you reach for a wide angle lens during a landscape shoot, make sure you keep his tips in mind!
