In case you missed it, there’s a new film stock that’s been the talk of the town over the weekend. HARMAN Phoenix 200 prides itself as the world’s newest color negative film made from scratch, and the first experimental emulsion made at the HARMAN Photo factory.

Of course, such a product is guaranteed to capture the interest of the passionate film photography community. Among the slew of willing and able photographers who took a few rolls of HARMAN Phoenix 200 for a test run was Jason Kummerfeldt of grainydays. In the video above, he shared his thoughts and findings with his usual dose of witty humor, and some sample photos for all of us curious about how it fares.

He also raised an important question — Why would HARMAN, an offshoot of the ILFORD brand, produce a color film today? To answer this question, Kummerfeldt himself flew to the United Kingdom to sit down with the HARMAN Research and Development team and discuss how this film stock came to be.

So, if you’re itching to know more about the brand-new HARMAN Phoenix 200, make sure to watch the video to the end!
