But that’s OK. It happens even to the best landscape photographers out there. Sometimes, the scene or location just doesn’t give you enough ideas or inspiration. Maybe you’re just not motivated enough lately. It doesn’t mean that you’re failing at landscape photography; it simply wasn’t working for you at that time.

In the video above by Mads Peter Iversen, he shares two shooting opportunities he had in Cornwall — one where he wasn’t too inspired and another where he was. He looks back at what made the two instances different and what kinds of photos he ended up making. He wants to remind us that photographers like him don’t always get great landscape photos; their goal is to share the ones that they like and are truly proud of.

So, if you ever feel uninspired, stuck or demotivated about your own landscape photography, remember that you’re not alone. Everyone goes through it once in a while. Not all photography outings will lead you to the most breathtaking views or best photos — or at least the ones you like. The goal is to keep yourself open to opportunities to shoot and make the most out of what’s before you.
