Sony FE 50mm f/1.4 GM lens

Recommended by Julie Powell | Read Review | $1298; available via B&H

I think this lens is perfect for portraits, weddings, or possibly even street photography (although perhaps a bit bulky for street?). I use it for nature photography, pets and even still-life. Throw some extension tubes on and you have a great macro lens. There is so much I like, and very little I don’t. What a fabulous addition to my kit.

Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III camera

Recommended by Bob Coates | $1999.99; available via B&H

I finally stepped up this year to move from my Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III camera and added the latest OM-1 from OM Systems. As you probably know Olympus sold off their camera division. There was lots of concern there would be changes for the worse and possibly no more Olympus. It’s only been better and the Micro 4/3rds format is stronger than ever with new lenses in production as we speak to fill out the already solid line up of glass.

Sony a7RV camera

Recommended by Julie Powell | Read Review | $3898; available via B&H

Apparently, it’s not much of a technology jump from the A7R IV. But if you are like me and are shooting with something even older (i.e. A7R III), you will be amazed at the performance and image quality of the new Sony A7R V. The higher resolution, much improved AF Tracking and Focus Stacking are just a few of the features I am loving. Are you looking for a great all-rounder, a terrific portrait shooter and a great landscape camera? Then seriously, you can’t go past the Sony A7R V. It packs a punch for the price.
