No, it’s not quite a Christmas miracle, but there is a quick and easy way to turn water into wine. At least in photos, using Photoshop! If only it was that easy in real life, right?

We did a fun cheeky, holiday party/studio session with model Summer. I grabbed a champagne glass, but oh dear, no bubbles. So, what to do? Pour in some water and add the bubbles and color in Photoshop. Here’s how I did it.

Creating the wine bubbles in Photoshop

  1. Use the Pen Tool or the Polygonal Lasso Tool and select the water in the glass on a new layer
  2. Use a bubble brush (You can find loads on Brusheezy.com) and paint in the bubbles in white. Vary the brush size and have a few towards the bottom and more smaller at the top.
  3. Now, fill in the selection with your round brush with an appropriate color. I used #dfb748 then changed the blend mode to Color and dropped the opacity to 30%.
  4. Finish editing your image as you wish

Watch the Photoshop tutorial below on how to achieve it step-by-step.
