Retouch4me Color Match — Usage

In my initial tests, I used the latest version of Adobe Photoshop with Color Match to color grade a car. I wanted to give it more of a cool tone with a futuristic feel. By pressing the LUT Manager button within the plug-in interface, I was quickly able to find a LUT that matched perfectly to the look I was trying to create. The cloud-based library gives you a really good selection of choices to help you find exactly what you are looking for.

Next, I tried the Color Match function on the same car to compare. I selected an image that most closely matched what I was looking for. I found a cityscape with some cool blue tones and loaded it as the reference image. You need only point the plug-in to the reference image. It does not need to be loaded into Photoshop or be a layer of the image you are working on. The plug-in quickly analyzed the reference image and did a great job at replicating the feel of that image.

The plugin interface offers some basic controls that allows the user to change the blending of the effect that is being rendered as well as the luminosity, color and a smoothing control. Some basic masking functions are also present, allowing you to paint in or erase the effect from certain areas of your target image.

In addition, the plugin allows you to create your own LUTs so that you can reuse them without having to search for a reference image.
