A little while back I wrote a review on the SJCam Action Camera C300. Little did I know when I first started using it how versatile this little camera could be and just how much I would be using it.

I do some fairly elaborate studio portrait sessions. I also arrange themed workshops and group photoshoots. People LOVE to see what goes on behind the scenes! I often wonder if people prefer these videos to the final images. So using the SJCam C300 means I can up the quality (if not the audio) and I have also been learning better editing skills.

These shoots can take place over several hours, or indeed, days. I take snippets from the videos or speed up sections, so the videos are not quite as long and add them to the music. Some are guided walkthroughs. I just wish I could add some decent audio to this camera. Sure, I could record a separate audio track but then I need to sync that up. I do use a wireless mic on my camera, but this handy little pocket camera is just so easy to set up on a lighting stand and record the action and not having to think about it.

Have a look at just a few of the recent videos I have added to my YouTube channels this year…with more to come!

The Vintage Fairy

Alice in Wonderland

Western Steampunk Extravaganza

The only downfall of this little camera (apart from the audio) is that when it’s in your pocket or camera bag, it’s quite easy to accidentally turn it on and start recording. This wastes battery and limited recording space on your SD Card. Not a big deal, but something worth mentioning.

So please do check out my YouTube channel, I’d love it if you liked, shared and subscribed too. Thanks so much!
