The short answer, of course, is yes. But the road to stunning sunrise photography isn’t always easy or pain-free.

This challenge is what UK-based landscape photographer Thomas Heaton talks about in the video above. Anyone who has ever tried to do landscape photography during the Golden Hour (sunrise, in this case), knows the struggle it involves. If you’re not a morning person or the weather in your area is always a factor to consider, the challenge doubles. The result? We feel more inclined to stay in bed than wake up early to capture the splendor of sunrise.

But the biggest roadblock to sunrise photography is often more a mental one than anything else. Heaton describes a scenario that is likely familiar to all of us, including the internal dialogues we often have the day before our planned shoot. Guilty? Don’t worry because he also gave some tips to help you be more committed, realistic, and prepared for this photography project.
