To Install
- Download the presets for free here.
- Make sure you have Aurora HDR 2018 (try it now).
- Launch the application and open an image.
- Choose File > Add Custom Preset Pack to load the new presets.
To Use a Preset
In order to save time when developing your image, you’ll find an extensive collection of presets. Professional photographers from around the world have helped us create a comprehensive group of presets that give your images amazing enhancements in a single click.
To apply a preset:
- Make sure an image is open in Aurora HDR 2018.
- If the Preset Panel isn’t visible, click its button in the Top Toolbar. The Preset Panel will open at the bottom edge of the screen. You can click the Preset Panel button in the Top Toolbar to toggle displaying and hiding the presets filmstrip bar on the bottom of the window.
- Examine the presets available by exploring their thumbnails at the bottom of the page. Each offers a live preview as what the image would look like with the Preset applied.
- Click on a Preset thumbnail to apply it. All the preset settings of the current preset are immediately applied to the image. A gold frame highlights the current preset.
- You can quickly switch presets by clicking on a new thumbnail. To view all the presets in a given category, simply use the arrow keys on your keyboard or the horizontal scrollbar located at the bottom of the Aurora 2018 window.
- If you hover your mouse over a preset an Amount slider is revealed, with the default set to 100% opacity. By moving the Amount slider located within the Preset name you can lower the intensity that the effect has on your image.
- Click the Star icon on a preset thumbnail to add it to your Favorites list for easy access
Counting down to Thursday when I can try out these presets!
We hope you like them
Are these presets only for MAC?
Thanks Richard. Can these be used in the Windows version of Aurora HDR?
Are these presets Mac only
Nope.. cross platform…. File > Import Presets
Every time I try to import Aurora crashes. I suspect it may be a problem with Aurora.
I keep getting “Aurora HDR 2018 has stopped working” whenever I try to import these presets. Anyone else seeing the same issue?
A bug fix from them drops tomorrow I hear
Hi Richard. I re-downloaded today and tried the installation again. Same results: Aurora stops working during the import. Has the bug fix version been uploaded yet?
I’ve been told so. I got the presets to work on my Windows machine. Make sure you have an image open before installing.
Have you got the PC version – this is MAC only I think?
It works… use the File > Import presets command
I have tried to install them. I get a message that says they are installed (Mac). I see them in the Presets folder. But I do not see them in the preset Categories. I am double-clicking on the file to install … there is no File > Import.
Use the File menu in Autora to install
It still crashes for me on import, sadly.
Crashes Aurora (Windows) every time. Yes, I’ve followed your instructions (which should probably read File > Add Custom Presets Pack) but that immediately crashes Aurora. Did you read what Audrey (above) said? There is no File > Import…
Aurora has released an update to improve preset reliability. They personally bundled the presets and tested them to work.
Hi folks – Kevin here from Macphun. Rich and I are both in touch w/ the Macphun engineering team. There’s clearly something amiss and we’ on the case! Will try to get the fix into the next free update which is planned for late October.
did the d/l and attempted to install the presets on a W10 machine on which I have had Aurora HDR 2018 installed for a few weeks. No success. It simply did not seem to have an appropriate file with a folder for MAC and then the program itself shut down. Much simpler to install presets for ON1 RAW. Signed up for the newsletter also. maybe the correct package could be sent by email. TIA
