Her life was altered from a horrifying and near life-taking motorcycle accident. As she lay bed ridden, she craved travel and the outside world but because of her condition was unable to see these places she dreamed about. She depended on her creativity to take her mind to these epic locations and recreated them with her photography and self-taught Photoshop skills. Today, she continues to create worlds through her love of digital imagery. I’m thrilled to introduce you to the talented, Renee Robyn.
Canadian born, Renee has always been a sketch artist, but her experience in the photography world began 16 years ago as a model. After 11 years she began to experiment on the other side of the lens.

After Renee’s accident and over the last 4+ years her style has developed into an ethereal combination of fact and fiction. Merging together expertly shot photographs of unique and interesting subjects with hours of meticulous retouching in Photoshop to create easily recognizable imagery that is both stunning and distinctively her own.

Renees Advice to Emerging Photographers
“My advice to emerging photographers is somewhat simple. Hold on to the reason why you started shooting in the first place, the love that keeps you going and keeps you honest to yourself. Don’t ever let it go, keep it precious and safe. It’s the only thing that will get you through all the tough stuff, all the long hours, difficult clients, jobs that don’t pay on time, equipment failures, and the menagerie of things that will inevitably happen when you do anything for any length of time. Next, don’t stop! It’s going to take a while, it’s ok that it takes a while, just put in the time, keep clicking, and don’t give up :)”

Amazing. While I can’t compare my problems to hers, classical piano was my hobby for years until I had an accident, surgery on my neck and have some nerve damage in my hands. I took up photography because I couldn’t play much anymore. I’m going to check her out. Thank you!
Wow, an incredible story Laura. So glad you could relate with Renee.
:D I’m following her on FB now :)
