Ft. Lauderdale is home to one of my oldest photography adventures, and I’m so happy to be there again. I hope you’ll come into town and join me for a fun evening making pictures of the city, people, and whatever we can find. It’s the best way to practice and make new friends, as well. If you’ve got friends interested in a no pressure shooting practice, bring ’em along. I’m happy to share all the tools I know, and others will give you hand up, too. I recommend a tripod, but it’s not strictly necessary. We’ll explore the city along the river walk, and maybe head out for a bite to eat afterward.

This is a hands-on shooting time when you can practice various techniques, like dragging the shutter, long exposures, and light placement for the most flattering portraits. All skill levels are welcome!

Here are some pictures I’ve made during other photowalks.

We’re really pleased to team up with Perfectly Clear for this event. This is a free event, and we’ve got several raffle prizes, including a license to Perfectly Clear. The photowalk is a hands-on shooting time: bring your camera and tripod with fresh batteries and empty memory card, and speedlights if you’d like some practice with those. I’ll be using Perfectly Clear with Lightroom and Photoshop to finish my pictures, later, and I encourage you to download the free trial and give it a shot and see how it can make a big impact on your work (they’re our sponsor, after all).

Where

Lets meet at Smoker Park on the river, and well head to the river walk from there. This link is the address.

What to Bring

Bring your camera with fresh batteries and memory cards. I may use speedlights, but I’ll definitely use a tripod. I’ll be searching for both portraits and cityscapes. The weather looks like Florida standard: perfect. Remember to bring a fun attitude, too :D
