Why I picked this image: Friendly and humourous street photos have gained in popularity in recent years. There are even street photography groups that only focus on these kind of street photos.

These street photos capture a brief moment where people or things appear to interact with each other and thus creating a scene that will put a smile on peoples faces when they see these images. In these photos people are often lined up in an angle that make them appear to interact with signs or billboards. In general the people who are the main subjects of this juxtaposition play don’t even realise that they are interacting in a funny way.

This image from Josef Timar is a great example of such a photo. The woman looking out from the window (or through the armpit of the man on the ad) seems to have caught the attention of the giant male model on the ad.

To me it is important that these kind of photos show the people who are the main subject in a respectful and non harming way. Befor posting such an image always think about if the person who would see themselves on this image would also smile when they saw it.
