What on earth does that mean? Is that supposed to invite some kind of defense for those “moments”? What is “weird” about it? The weird thing is seeing such an inane string of absurd words posted on a website I was just starting to enjoy. Not worth the pixels, guys.
We post quotes by photographers and about photography to encourage discussion and to get people to think. Look up the source of the quote and start to be inspired. Weird isn’t bad.. in fact it can be quite wonderful.
Thanks, Richard. I am ready to appreciate and embrace any and all thinking triggered by that quote. Weird is wonderful as well as an inspiration. Still, I don’t understand what Mr. Keivom is trying to say. A little help from any corner would be much appreciated. Is there a truth within it, trying to poke it’s head out? I find it fascinating to surround one’s self in as many of those captured moments as possible, many of which will remain alive far longer than their creators and serve as an inspiration to millions over time.
He’s a photo journalist. My take is that he’s commenting on what many outsiders think of our profession. We work so hard to captures such slivers of time. The moments we freeze don’t add up to a lot of duration, but its the curation and composition that adds impact. IE quality over volume.
