I am a self-taught amateur photographer based in Thessaloniki, Greece. Capturing moments is something that has always fascinated me. Until recently my photography was focused mainly in landscapes and everyday life. Then I was introduced to the magical world of conceptual photography and I felt butterflies in my stomach. I knew that this was the kind of photography that I wanted to do from now on. I decided I wanted to change my style, so I can express my emotions and my thoughts through my photography, hoping to provoke emotions and thoughts to others as well.
I have decided to use myself as a model, creating a series of conceptual self-portraits. This picture is one my first conceptual portraits. It was shot with window light and it is a composited image. I like using several textures on my pictures depending on the theme. Here I used the stormy clouds and a rough wall texture (all shot by me) to emphasize the pictures emotion. The hair motion further emphasizes the inner anguish. I chose not to show the face, because I want the viewer to focus on the general feeling of the picture.
Were excited to feature your work to the Photofocus audience!
