“I have visited Montpellier city in France two times before I took this photo, So I had a vision in my mind for composition and the intention to showcase the Tram light trails.
Location : Place de la comdie, Montpellier , France
Gear used: Fujifilm X-E1, with Fujinon 18-55, Gorilla pod portable tripod,
“I shot it with my new Fujifilm X-E1. It was my first trip with my new camera and it turned out that I took that I forgot to change to RAW but it turned out that JPEGs from the camera are amazing. I had a light Gorilla pod tripod as I was travelling for work so I tried to travel light. I used an aperture of f/8 and to get everything sharp I set it to focal length of 20mm, and ISO: 200 to get the cleanest possible image. I then bracketed 3 exposures to get almost all the dynamic range covered. I also took several exposures of 30 seconds to get the most light trails possible. ”
“As for post processing part , I created an HDR from the bracketed shots with Photomatix Pro and I tried to get a natural look because I wanted to give the final look in Photoshop. I then applied the long exposures on top of the HDR image , and masked the light trails in. I then applied Glamour Glow filter from Nik Color Efex , to get a ‘dreamy look’, I also applied ‘Topaz Star Effects’ filter to add a little bit of star burst effect in lamps.”
