Photographer: Dirk Marwede – Untitled

Hey guys! I have to say I am having so much fun with this Photographer of the Day project! I love having the chance to really go through the awesome content in the  Photofocus Flickr community and picking out cool images to share with you. As a DC headshot photographer, I don’t always have the freedom to be creative with portraits, so I am always blown away by the creativity that is demonstrated by all of the photographers that contribute, but Dirk Marwede really stood out to me today.

The lines in this image are awesome and really help your eye move throughout the shot! We love that this shot is black and white because it makes the white lines really pop and bring your attention around the whole photo, and back to the whites of this child’s eyes. Dirk does a great job with perspective in all of his images. It makes me want to get out in the street and get a little more creative with my portraits!

I am so impressed by his entire black and white portfolio. His images are so strong and well composed, but my favorite part is rich contrast his images posess. They make the images look so crisp and powerful!

The photo was taken with a Panasonic DMC-GX8. His aperture was set at f/5.0 and his focal length was 15 mm. The shutter speed was 1/250th and the ISO was at 500.
