Photographer: Regina Pagles – Captain Spaghetti Head

Hi everyone! Kristina Sherk here – I am excited to present today’s portrait photographer of the day, the very talented Regina Pagles! This is such a great shot, it totally made me smile this morning when I found it in the Photofocus Flickr community. Regina has amazing vision and excellent compositing skills, see for yourself!

The subject of this image is a local owner of a restaurant in town. We agree, Regina, Alex looks great with spaghetti on his head! I’m definitely inspired to have a fun little shoot like this soon at our DC Headshot Studio! Regina’s creativity really shows through this shot, and if you check out her whole portfolio, you’ll be just as blown away as I am! Her images are all so original and imaginative, and they look like they were so much fun to shoot! You can also check out her before and after album here! As a professional retoucher, I am equally as impressed with her compositing skills.

This image was shot with AilenBee lights with a softbox, octobox, and grid. Check out the image description to get all of the details on how she lit this! It was taken with a Canon 5D Mark II using a 24-105mm L Lens at a 70mm focal length. The aperture was set at F/11 and the shutter speed was 1/125th of a second with an ISO of 125. I love the soft quality of the light, it is very Rembrant-ish. Great work Regina!!
