Photographer: Prabhu Shankar “Ayyanakere Lake, Chikamagalur, Karnataka”
Photographer of the Day, Prabhu Shankar, stops time as he captures the perfect moment when five men simultaneously dive into Ayyanakere Lake, India. The leading line of the pier down the center of the photograph is strong, drawing the eye to the man sitting on the cupola. This sitting man is actually sitting atop two triangles. The smaller triangle is formed by the cupola and is surrounded by a larger one shaped by the sitting man and the two lower divers on the right and the left. The triangles anchor the end of the pier, providing balance. Using a Canon EOS 60D, Prabhu stopped the action with a shutter speed of 1/1600, at F/9, ISO 500.
