Austin is one of the towns I’ve been most excited about visiting as I tour and demonstrate Perfectly Clear. It’s rich with history and culture, and I can’t wait to see and photograph it. Please join me for a fun evening making pictures downtown. We’ll start at the capitol building (meet at the Visitors Center), and work our way toward the river, making cityscapes along the way. There’s at least one parking garage calling my name, too (they’re the perfect place to get a little elevation in a city).

This is a hands-on shooting time when you can practice various techniques, like dragging the shutter, long exposures, and different techniques for making interesting nighttime pictures. All skill levels are welcome!

Here are some pictures I’ve made during recent photowalks in other cities, finished with Lightroom and Perfectly Clear.

We’re really pleased to team up with Perfectly Clear for this event. This is a free event, and we’ve got door prizes, including a license to Perfectly Clear. The photowalk is a hands-on shooting time: bring your camera and tripod with fresh batteries and an empty memory card. I’ll be using Perfectly Clear with Lightroom and Photoshop to finish my pictures, later, and I encourage you to download the free trial and give it a shot to see how it can make a big impact on your work (they’re our sponsor, after all).

What to Bring

Bring your camera with fresh batteries and memory cards. I’ll use a tripod, and I recommend that you do, too. I expect we’ll focus on cityscapes, long exposures, and shutter dragging, but I’m likely to make some portraits along the way, too. Bring a jacket–the weather forecast looks great, but it will be evening and probably cool; I’ll be there rain or shine. Remember to bring a fun attitude, too :D
