Gregory Crewdson is an American photographer who is known for creating elaborate photos. His subject matter is usually scenes from American homes or neighborhoods. He’s considered a fine art photographer and visual artist. He approaches the process much like a filmmaker… often building elaborate sets and using large crews (sometimes only shooting a few photos after weeks).

His work is included in many collections including the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Los Angeles County Museum and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. He has also received numerous awards including the Skowhegan Medal for Photography, the National Endowment for the Arts Visual Artists Fellowship and the Aaron Siskind Fellowship.
