This image was posted in our Scott Critiques Flickr group – Justin made an impressive photograph of a single person in the ocean facing down a big wave. The photo is good as is, but I believe this is another case of a simple crop making the photo that much stronger.
In my version, I cropped vertically to increase the sense of drama caused by the big wave. I also used the Topaz Adjust plug-in to boost clarity and added a Vibrance layer in Photoshop to boost the blues. Everything else is the same. I think it’s stronger for the changes.
