Wireless control of flashes and cameras can open up new opportunities to create images that have previously been difficult or even impossible to capture. PocketWizard Radios ability to fire flashes off camera without the use of cables allows you to place lights wherever you need them. You can use single or multiple lights to illuminate the interior of a large room for architectural or wedding photography. You can even position a flash hundreds of feet away to light an animal emerging from its burrow as you take the picture with your long lens from a safe distance.

Trigger Your Camera Remotely, Too!

There are also many times where it would be convenient to control your camera without having to be behind the lens. Cable releases have been a staple for a long time, but the distance you can venture from the camera limits you. PocketWizard Radio Triggers can act as a wireless cable release to fire both camera and flash.

Slide a PocketWizard Radio Transceiver on your camera hot shoe and connect it to your camera with a remote Trigger Release Cable. With a second unit in your hand, match the channels on each PocketWizard Radio and press the Test button. The transceiver on the camera will then fire the camera from your remote command. Should you wish to operate your camera in an automatic mode, auto-focus and metering work just as if you were pressing the shutter. Not needing to be behind the camera frees you to either better interact with your subject or in the case of wildlife, to remain at a safe distance.

New Features with the PocketWizard MiniTT1 and FlexTT5

In the past, we have been limited to our cameras x-sync speed when using a flash typically from 1/125th to 1/250th of a second. With the Hypersync ability of the new MiniTT1 and FlexTT5, you can have full power flash at shutter speeds of 1/500th of a second and sometimes greater.

Using Canons eTTL flash system (Nikon support is planned for late summer 2009) High-speed flash sync takes this idea even further. Think of what you could do if you could sync your flash at up to 1/8000th of a second! Stop the action with shutter speeds that previously kept you from using a standard flash unit.

If you would like to light a subject with a flash while using a wide-open aperture to keep distracting background elements out of focus, High Speed Flash Sync can solve this problem as well. Your flash unit can provide the light for your subject, and the high shutter speed will allow a correctly exposed (or even underexposed!) background to dramatically separate your subject from the background.

Automatic eTTL Flash Exposure

Again, using Canons eTTL flash system, you can simply slide the MiniTT1 Transmitter on your Canon DSLR, place each Canon Flash unit in a FlexTT5 Transceiver, match the channels, position your lights and get perfect exposures! No metering, no difficult configurations, just place and shoot. By simply adjusting the position and distance of each flash from the subject, you can create lighting ratios and produce professional portraits simply and easily. Wireless photography using the PocketWizard Radio Triggers can open up new capabilities that you never thought possible.
