I had the honour of photographing the wedding of a couple who were also professional photographers. The bride has twice won the A.I.P.P. Australian Portrait Photographer of the Year and the groom twice won the A.I.P.P. Australian Wedding Photographer of the Year. There were also several very well known and accomplished wedding photographers in the audience as guests.  So this would be a wedding where I’d feel the pressure, if there ever was one. After the couple’s respective family and friends congradulated the bride and groom, I saw a several stories unfolding. This was one time that I should capture the moment rather than create the moment. The scene reminded me of a Renoir painting. As I noticed the bride greeting the little flower girl, the junior bridesmaid starting dancing and spinning around. I love this image because of all of the individual little stories were captured in just one click. I’m also very proud to say that this image helped me win the Photojournalist of the Year at the SWPP convention in Europe in 2010 and second place in the WPPI Photojournalism print awards. It is truly one of my al time favorite images.
