I agree there is more to good photography than just taking a picture. There should be some intent in mind.
The camera is a tool. Like any other tool it is directed by the vision and the creativity of the photographer. Photography is an art, but on a more fundamental level, as eloquently stated by Martin Parr, photography is a form of communication. As in all communication, it is the tought behind the lens that focuses on subject and captures the essence of it.
