Wow. That’s all I can say about the incredible crowds at PPE. About 40,000 have pre-registered and the show floor was packed. I really enjoyed seeing more old friends today and hanging out in the Adorama booth with the super talented Tamara Lackey.

I saw some cool announcements today. Some I can’t tell you about because they are under NDA. But I can tell you there are lots of new support systems coming for DSLR video/still shooters – some from companies that have previously not been in that space.

Benro announced a refresh of its budget (but very good) tripods including a new “travel flat” version.

PocketWizards announced a slew of products that work with a variety of systems including Alien Bees, Elinchrom and the MiniTT1 & FlaxTT5 radios for Nikon cameras.

X-Rite announced a new i1 color management system and Animoto announced a very cool new plug-in for Aperture.

There were plenty of free educational programs on the show floor and conference attendees were given tons of learning opportunities in the education track.

My talk about Twitter is Saturday at 1:15 so if you’re attending the show and purchased a seat to the educational conference stop by.
