I am in the process of putting my website together and all of these are things I thought about when planning for the website. I didn’t have the statistics, instead opting for my own annoyances with photographers websites while doing research in the field and seeing what other photographers are offering. The last piece I am trying to put together is being able to have the images purchased online. Using wordpress I am finding it difficult to have a ecommerce layer AND security (access to the original images) built in.

All in all, great write-up and I wholeheartedly agree.

Scott, I’ve come across a number of template sites that advertise SEO optimized flash sites ( David Jay’s showitfast.com is a good example ) Do you have an opinion on these?
