Europe’s TIPA (Technical Image Press Association) has just announced its 2008 awards for the best photo/imaging products.

Nikon’s D300 and D3 took home major awards, as did the Sony Alpha 200 and Canon EOS450D. Canon also won the award for Best Entry-level Lens: Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS.

IMO, the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS isnt really the best entry-level lens. Why wouldnt they chose a more appropriate range like 18-55mm? i just found that interesting.

Telfa: They are probably counting on a 18-55 being included in every entry set (kit lens), imho something like the 55-250 are the first lens most people pick up when expanding their entry level kit (like the 450d)
