Photoshop, Aperture and similar programs are memory hungry. If you want to improve performance, the single best thing you can do is add more RAM to your computer. How much? Remember the old saying, “Speed cost money son, how fast can you afford to go?” As much as you can afford, and your computer can access – is the right answer.
